So proud of VOVA today.....AZERBAIJAN's flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the 2022 WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES, currently taking place in BEIJING, CHINA, from TODAY (FRIDAY 4TH) through until SUNDAY 20TH FEBRUARY.

VOVA is one of two athletes (the other is SINGLES skater EKATERINA RYABOVA) representing AZERBAIJAN at these OLYMPICS.

So.....hold on to your hats as the MEN competition at the OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES BEIJING 2022, which began on THURSDAY 27th JANUARY and are currently taking place through until SUNDAY 20TH FEBRUARY, gets underway in just a few hours, with BOBa making his OLYMPIC debut at this event :-) !

The MEN SP is due to commence TOMORROW (TUESDAY 8TH FEBRUARY) at 09.15 local time/01.15 UK time/04.15 Moscow time with BOBA scheduled to be the 6th skater to take to the ice out of the 29 in this competition (the USA's Vincent Zhou has had to withdraw after testing positive for Covid).

So we were super excited to see VOVA produce a NEW PB score in the MEN SP first thing TODAY (TUESDAY 8TH FEBRUARY) whilst making his debut at the OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES BEIJING 2022, which began on THURSDAY 27th JANUARY and are currently taking place through until SUNDAY 20TH FEBRUARY.

VOVA placed 18th out of 29 with a score of 84.15 that included the 14th highest TES, and positive GOEs for all of his executed elements.

VOVA easily qualified for the FS, which is due to commence on THURSDAY 10TH FEBRUARY at 09.30 local time/01.30 UK time/04.30 Moscow time, as the top 24 go through. VOVA is scheduled to be 7th skater to take to the ice (1st out in the 2nd warm up group), at 10.33 local time/02.33 UK time/05.33 Moscow time, out of the 24 in this competition.

THURSDAY 10TH FEBRUARY 12.30HRS; Well it was not quite a new PB, but VOVA made it to the end of his program earlier TODAY (THURSDAY 10TH FEBRUARY) with an almost clean performance, and no falls, in the MEN FS at the OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES BEIJING 2022, which began on THURSDAY 27th JANUARY and are currently taking place through until SUNDAY 20TH FEBRUARY.

VOVA placed 19th out of 24 in the FS with a score of 155.04, that included the 15th highest TES, and 18th overall with a total score of 239.19.
